A Journey through the Central Chilterns with Chalk, Cherries and Chairs – our legacy film

As we look to the end of the Chalk, Cherries and Chairs Landscape Partnership (CCC) in November 2024, five impactful years since its launch, we’re excited to share our legacy film with you….

Join us on a journey which aims to not only showcase a small part of what Chalk, Cherries and Chairs has achieved in its five and a half years, but also to inspire you to take action for our precious landscape.

Chalk, Cherries and Chairs was conceived to address urgent challenges facing the Central Chilterns, including habitat fragmentation, development, and an increasing disconnect between people and their local landscape. The Scheme used three themes – wildlife, heritage and people – to deliver solutions to these challenges through a range of partners, with threads such as such as volunteering, engagement, research and restoration, running through them in order to deliver tangible, on-the-ground benefits and a lasting legacy.

Chalk, Cherries and Chairs ran from 2019 and wraps up in November 2024. Made possible by funding from National Lottery Heritage Fund, with thanks to Lottery Players; as well as HS2 Community Engagement Fund and over 80 partners, groups, organisations, landowners and event attendees who have contributed match funding.

As CCC wraps up, we’ll continue sharing its successes through this websites and social media, celebrating the legacy left by this inspiring partnership. Find out more about the scheme’s legacy, and what you can do next, at www.chilterns.org.uk/ccc-legacy
