Flagship projects
Our work on our core issues, such as habitat restoration and climate change, is realised through our Flagship Projects.
The Chilterns Conservation Board (CCB) and its team of staff work tirelessly on core issues like managing our landscapes, influencing planning and development, promoting sustainability, engaging communities, and combatting climate change. Some of this work is realised through specific projects. We identify, plan and obtain financing for work that looks at relevant or detailed aspects of conserving the Chilterns National Landscape.
Our projects have spanned a wide range of subjects over the years (from iron age hillforts to promoting local businesses), with many successes for nature, heritage and communities. Read all about our current and past projects below.
Our guiding tool is the Chilterns Management Plan, which sets out the vision, policies and actions for the management of the National Landscape from 2019 to 2024, helping all those with a responsibility for the National Landscape to care for it for current and future generations. From influencing planning applications to uncovering prehistoric remains, instigating wildlife surveys to protecting rare chalk streams, all that we do is driven by our Management Plan.
